I hope everyone has a fun and safe Thanksgiving holiday! We start tonight with a meal at my grandma's, then two meals tomorrow, and one more Saturday. Wheew! That's a lot of eating! Friday I have a 28 week check-up and I MAY run in a store or two since I'm gonna be out and about anyway. I will have to cut out pretty early though so we can take the kids to the grand illumination at the park. Hope I remember the camera, can't wait to see what they think of that.
Tonight I'm gonna leave early and go by my mom's to try to get Christmas pictures taken of the kiddos. She already has her decorations up, so we'll see how it goes. I bum a tree every year for pics. My kids can tear down a tree in under a minute, so we only do a table top one for now. Which is SO much easier but I do miss my big tree with all my Hallmark ornaments. Oh well....this too shall pass and I'll wish for screaming toddlers back, right? Right!
My mom came by today and we went on a walk with the twins. Carson hit every single mud puddle in our driveway. He LOVES mud and dirt. He is SUCH the boy. It was so cute. He was just squealing and giggling with delight. He kept saying "happy, happy, joy, joy". I love letting my kids BE kids and do things like that. It doesn't bother me a bit for them to be covered in mud and dirt or play in the rain or whatever. People used to say, "oh wait till you have kids, you won't want them to do that." Wrong, actually. I DO let them do stuff I think some mom's frown upon, but honestly, I have as much fun as they do. I really do....I am the mom who lets them throw the ball indoors, sets up bowling down the hallway, or whatever fun, crazy thing we decide to do for the day. So what if it's extra laundry, maybe an extra bath, whatever.....memories and happy kids are more important to me than any dirty laundry or muddy floor will ever be. I love my kids and am so THANKFUL God chose me to be their mom. I am so blessed my husband works hard so I can be with them all the time. We are truly blessed this Thanksgiving holiday with health, happiness, and a wonderful family. I feel so rich!
