Since I posted about Milk Monday yesterday, I thought I'd give a "milk update". Henry started on "regular milk" over the weekend. He adjusted fine and is doing great with it. He does not like much in the way of solids yet, but you know....I've never known an adult still eating baby foods, so I'm sure he'll get there in time. We aren't even past #2 foods yet! I guess because he's the "baby", I'm not worrying him or rushing him.
I just have to say again, as I've said many times, I truly, truly believe in the health benefits of the raw milk we drink. It tastes amazing and truly, my kids have benefitted so much from the tougher immune systems from it. I can count on one hand how many times they have been sick or needed antibiotics. It truly amazes me. We do catch the colds going around from time to time, but they last noticeably shorter periods of time. I realize my kids don't go to day care, so that could play a factor, but we do go to Walmart, restaurants, church, and other places where lots of people gather.
I know "raw" sounds kind of negative, so I prefer to say "fresh" milk. :-) There is no comparison to that and store bought milk. To me, store milk all tastes sour and "watered down". I just can't drink it anymore. We had a milk shortage in Nov. & Dec. and I just didn't drink any.
Anyway, if you want to read more info- there's a wonderful book called "The Untold Story of Milk" which gives the history of why milk started being pastuerized and homogenized in the first place.
A good read if you are interested in healthy, real foods.
