We have been loving this springtime weather! We've gone outside to play every day. If I say "let's go bye-bye" which means outside or somewhere....kids come running and waiting for shoes. I love it because it's so much easier in warm weather to just put on shoes and go versus winter where we do jackets, hats, shoes, then get to the car, take it all off, get in car seats, get to our destination, put it back on, go inside, take it off....you get the idea! :-)
Today we went to visit my Granny and we had so much fun. The twins tear the house apart practically but she loves it (or she loves us too much to say otherwise :-) ) We realized Carson is named not only after his grandpa (my dad), but after his great-great grandfather and his great-great-great grandfather. I didn't know that-I only knew about the great-great grandpa's name. I know that sounds kind of crazy to not know, but if you think about it you don't always know a lot about your family tree. Maybe just a generation or two. Or maybe I'm a slacker. I just thought that was neat, I will have to write that in his baby book. I have been avoiding the baby books for months now. I really, REALLY need to update them before I forget everything. I also keep a journal of cute things they do....need to update that as well.
I got to go to Abbey's softball game this afternoon, alone. The babies were still asleep when I left. It was nice even though they lost. I had not been anywhere by myself since Friday so I think I was due. :-) I wasn't really needing a break though, we've had a great week. The twins are at an age now where I really enjoy spending extra time with them. I find myself letting them stay up a few minutes later at night lately just so I can spend more time with them. Is that nuts? There are other days (usually when they don't get a nap) that they go to bed right on time. They are just a joy at this age. They are so funny and learning so much every day. They do stuff to make us laugh, give kisses, just so sweet. I've loved each age and stage, but I think naturally some ages and stages are harder than others, especially times two. We'll talk again when we hit terrible twos. I hear they start right on the second birthday....something to look forward to !
Tomorrow we take Pa for his treatment. The countdown is on- I think he has 3 treatments left after tomorrow. Yay!
