That's where I've been....for 2 weeks apparently! I am about 10 weeks along in this pregnancy and looking forward to getting some energy back! I have been napping every day with the kids and going to bed early most nights once they are down. Hopefully I can get the new baby on the same napping schedule fairly quickly! Those sleepless nights are creeping back into my memory.......
The twins have been playing and just having fun. They seem to play so well together lately, anytime I'll find them in their room or in a corner playing and laughing hysterically at each other. It's so cute. Now, that's not to say they don't have their fair share of sibling fights, cause they do. It's just a bit less lately. They like to go in their room and close the door to shut momma out I guess. They are getting so mature! Haha....so I have to go open it a thousand times a day. They really are upset with me this week because I haven't been letting them go outside in the 101 degree temps. Aren't I the mean momma? I have broken down and let them go out at like, 8 pm, and it's still HOT outside. We have to play in the kiddie pool and with the water hose, but it gets some of their cabin fever out. Poor things...we're ready for a cool down. I find myself looking for distractions like I have to do in the winter and fun new things to do.
Carson is talking a bit more, which is good. He has also discovered bugs. And he LOVEs them! It's a cute, all-boy fascination. I love having a boy, it's a lot of fun. I had no idea what it would be like but it's a blast. He went outside and "helped" Dustin & Uncle Rawhide shovel some dirt in a hole they were working on filling for our water line to the shed. He knew just how to hold the shovel and really wanted to help. I thought right then, I've lost him. As soon as he's big enough, he's going to be Daddy's project helper. He just loves that kind of thing and he has a lot of patience for it for his age.
Emmy is talking even more than she already was......if that's possible. She uses phrases and some sentences. It's funny how they repeat stuff because one of her favorite phrases is "oh gosh." It's really cute. She is really into babies right now too. She always tries to give them some juice from her sippy cup and she will walk around with one on her shoulder (or a stuffed elephant) and pats it, saying "baby." So cute. She is going to be a great helper with the new baby.
I don't remember if I mentioned, but we are done with bottles here! Since turning 18 months, we gave up bottles, cold turkey. I just took them one day and they never asked for them again. They could see them on the counter but went right for the cups. Now, cups are "ba-bas" here. I am glad that went smoothly! I should get a pass on something, right? :-)
We have been trying to get the spare room/office cleaned out for the nursery.....it's...going. I need to do more but haven't felt like it. At least I'm not moving a whole house while extremely pregnant with twins this time. One room we can hopefully handle. My mom has been helping me some with it, so I guess we'll get it done eventually.
Well, I'm off to get some rest...tomorrow is church.

2 Doctors Visits and a whole bunch of morning sickness......
We had a busy week and it seemed like a long week, even though it was short because of the July 4th holiday. Carson went back for his check-up from his surgery. He is doing great. I did find out they repaired a hernia as well during surgery, which I don't remember them telling me the day of. Unless I was too keyed up and didn't remember. Anyway, he and I had a fun day out, even though it was a dr.'s visit day. He talked the whole way there and back. It was so sweet to be out with just him like that. He doesn't talk a lot, so now I know why. He can't get a word in edgewise! Emmy talks enough for both. LOL. He and I went in Wal-mart together too and he talked and talked in there and giggled. He was so happy to have Mommy to himself I think.
I had my first pre-natal visit today. Everything looks great with the baby. The heartrate was 141 and he or she is due Feb. 21. We are excited! And yes, there is only ONE baby this time! That was my first question-haha! Two would have been fine if that's what God sent us, but it certainly would prove to be a challenge with the busy two we have. Meme's birthday is Feb. 19, so I think she's hoping we hit that day. I guess we'll see. Everything moves so fast with a twin pregnancy, I feel like we are in slow-motion now. I can't remember how many visits I had with the twins, but it was a TON of dr. visits, a TON of ultrasounds. I'm looking forward to seeing how a singleton pregnancy goes, but I feel bad the baby has no one to play with! :-) Carson and Emilynn were always touching, pushing, kicking in my belly. This is definitely a new experience for us and we are excited.
We had a great 4th of July weekend, except that I have had morning sickness constantly. It is hard when you still have to chase 18 month olds. It did let up yesterday so that was good. I felt normal again. We celebrated my Granny's birthday July 1st, Friday night with our traditional gathering at her house. My Dad and uncle Billy did their annual fireworks. They were awesome. The twins liked them okay, Carson kept putting his head down on me though. We had a cookout Monday at Amanda & Wayne's with more fireworks, my Dad & Wayne did those. The twins knew what to do by then. Emilynn would do her hands all crazy and clap. Carson clapped after each one and he didn't have his head ducked down. They were cute. It was a very relaxing, family filled weekend.
Well, I'm off to bed because we are taking pictures tomorrow. We have not done pictures since last year at this time. Well, professional ones. Meme's camera takes almost professional ones in my opinion. (on a side note-I am getting a camera like that! I'm soooooo excited! I may even get Meme's and let her upgrade...we'll see. I have such electronics issues that I'd honestly like to have one I know how to work already. haha....)
Anyway, the appointment is at 9:30 in the morning. My kiddos get up at 9:30 in the morning. I get up at 9:30 too. I guess I'd better set the alarm to get us out the door by 8. I did not make the appointment-Amanda did! I just hope it's worth it and everyone cooperates. Pictures stress me because it's hard to keep everyone happy, hair fixed, clothes fixed......then there's the whole deciding what to buy afterwards......it stresses me. That may be silly but they do. Of all the things to stress over......

The Stats
Here are our stats from our 18 month check up on Wednesday:
Carson- 25.8 pounds; 31.7 inches tall
He is in the 45th percentile overall. I guess he's pretty average. :-)
Emilynn- 29.2 pounds; 33.6 inches tall
She is in the 97th percentile-she's a big girl for her age. She's not really even chunky
though-she's solid. She had an ear infection that we had no idea about. That is I think
her 3rd one that she's had at a check up. She has yet to show signs of one. I don't know
if that's good or bad. Carson hasn't had an ear infection yet. (Knock on wood!)
I'm tired-can't wait for that second trimester energy to kick in!!! I will write more soon about our Fourth of July weekend.
For now, Happy 4th! God bless America and the men and women who fight for our freedom!
